Google Personalized SearchGoogle has come up with some new changes in their search engine where they have tried to personalize the search engine results which may take the web-surfing to new levels.

The new Google Personalized Search Engine system is designed to help the viewers to find that they are looking for in easy and specialized way.The new system of Google basically works in this way, if someone is searching for some answer and clicks on a website that they often visit that has that answers, then that site will rank higher than others the next time they go to search for the same query. If you like the answers in wiki answers than some other website, Wikipedia will rank higher on the list because Google knows that you like that site more than other websites.

To take the advantage of Google’s new personalized search, you don’t need to keep signed-in to Google account nor you need a Google account. It is available in 40 languages worldwide. The Google personalized search also works with less specific keyword terms. If you type in a general term like “new phones” and frequently check for the relates websites from search engine, then the websites that you usually prefer to visit, will rank higher than other websites for “new phones”. In this way, google will help you to get the information you would normally like to check out first.

So what if you are looking for some more general search? If the new general search doesn’t impress you, you can simply turn off the customization setting that is found under “view customizations” on Google. Google only keep the customized search information records for 180 days and it is completely different from a users Google account and web history.

Google’s new personalized search tool makes users feel more comfortable in their search and makes it more easier for them to get that they are looking for. It’s giving the internet more of a personal touch, making it simple for those who are new to the web and more helpful for regular web surfers.

seo logo2 Does Search Engine Optimisation(Optimization) Works With Search Engine Spiders?Search engine optimisation (optimization) is very important for a website. To get the process work well, it will be good to combine search engine spiders with this process. You can use these spiders for your SEO needs.

It is good to know first what a search engine spider is. It is a procedure that monitors the Internet to index sites. It monitors things like how frequently a site is updated, links to a main page and references on other pages. When a spider finds more things it will be pretty much easier for a site to be listed at a good ranking on a search engine.

The most beneficial thing that can be pretty much helpful for your SEO needs is to keep a link to all the key pages on every page of your site. These key page include things like your main page or other type of pages including important things like categories of your site. It doesn’t matter at all what the links look like. As much as they are included, they will be useful.  This will help the main page to get onto the search engine and  at a better position.

Sometimes the web hosting company that is providing you the hosting services can make an impact on your search engine results. A web hosting company in UK can help you a lot with getting more respect from search engine spiders. This can be the case if that hosting company is related to a search engine. A hosting organization linked to a web search engine can help. This is for the reason that your site will be easier to find on a typical engine.

Getting links for your site from other websites can also help. Submitting your site to lots of  directories is one of the best example of this. Directories can work with listing information on websites relating to various categories. Not only you will be able to get your site listed for more people to find but you will also get it to work with search engine spiders.

You should observe these things with UK search engine. These features deal with things like getting links set around your site to your front page or other key pages.

Secret Of SERPAs all website owner knows, SERP is the short form of “Search Engine Results Page,” that beautiful list of links that you want your web page to be at the top of all the time. There’s no real point to this article, it is just to improve some general observations of SERPs as if they were gorillas in the mist!

Search engines like a scraper just as much as a low-ranking site.

A “scraper” is a site that just steals your content from your page and reposts it, with a link back to justify the plagiarism. The thing that irritates you is when you search for your site plus a keyword, and five scraper sites comes up before yours. Every now and then when Google is re-building their index, you’ll see this.

High bounce rates aren’t always bad.

Here’s the thing that sounds pretty bad: when the user bounces and instantly clicks another link in the SERP! This tells the search engine (rating these times with their redirected hashed links) that the user did not find what they were searching for on your site. However, when the user goes from SERP to your site to one of your ads – well, that’s a good thing, then, isn’t it?

SERPs are important in reputation management as well.

Lots of webmasters try to play the trick with several sites into the top results for the same terms, reasoning that if they have to compete with someone, they can at least compete with themselves. This makes bad sense from an SEO standpoint, but good sense when you want to make sure that all of the top links about you are written by you or your “friends.” It keeps bad press low on the page, you know.

Studies and analyses show that ranking 1-10 on a search will get about 88% of all clicks.

The remaining 12% goes to results 11 to infinity…

The Google ‘promote-remove-comment’ buttons so far are still a cypher.

You can only see them if you log in with your Google account. So far they seem to have little effect of changing results. It is doubtful that Google would allow the public to handle its results this way. So it’s a feedback feature of some sort, while keeping the superfluous purpose of allowing the user to customize how the links show up on their own SERP. Which is different for everyone. So what’s the point? Do users make the same search day in and day out, and if so why would they want to change the natural order?

The meaning of  “Cited by” in a SERP is a link that goes to the result from one or more pages with a “.edu” domain.

Getting a link from a .edu website surely helps for ranking higher in search engines. It is just enough to  puts your site in the pink forever; you could just about spam “mesotheleoma” to the page after that and it’ll still rank high. Also, trusted authors are tracked by this system and ranked higher, even on hits that have nothing to do with the reference.

One of the easiest way to rank higher for a high-competition keyword is to misspell it!

Unethical SEO TricksAs we all know that the competition has increased a lot on web, the webmasters feel that their only goal is to rank higher in search engines. Everything goes fine till the time you don’t implement any unethical ways of SEO. Implementing bad tricks can give you high traffic for a short period, but always keep in mind that there is a where your site will be banned for ever.

Its because search engines are pretty much smarter than everyone think and the algorithm keeps changing after every specific time duration. Nobody knows the page rank algorithm of Google apart from its founders. So if you are using any such techniques then be careful from now onwards.

Guaranteed RankingGuaranteed Ranking – There is no one who can give the guarantee for Google ranking. If your SEO consultant  is giving the guarantee to rank you first, then it means that the consultant is just tricking you. You can only try to optimize the website in ethical ways and wait for Google to rank it on higher position.

what is cloakingCloaking – As we all knows that this is one of the black hat technique where different content is presented to Search engines bots and different content to the viewers. This is usually done by providing content based on the IP addresses. When a user is taken as a search engine spider, a server-side script delivers a different version of the web page, one that contains content not present on the visible page. As a result, cloaking results in to unreliable ranking in the search results. That is the reason where all the search engines say “don’t cloak” in their Webmaster FAQs.

link exchange Unethical SEO Tricks That can Ban Your Site From Search EnginesLink Exchange Programs – This helps to boost the link popularity by linking your page with Web sites that are relevant to your topic and  it may benefit your ranking, but if the link exchange is with irrelevant websites then its just matter of time where Search Engines detect it and your site is just gone. Search engines are having its own ways to detect these bad techniques.

Keyword StuffingKeyword StuffingKeyword Stuffing is a technique where webmasters try to hide keywords inside page. Like put lots of keywords in the matching color of background. The keywords are not visible for viewers but Search Engine Crawlers can read them. So, it will be nice to avoid such bad tricks.

SEO SinsSEO is a trade with two sides: one the easy one are obvious mistakes you shouldn’t make, these are the deadliest, and another which is the most difficult one that will give you that extra edge is SERPs. The easy ones can be reviewed in ten easy and again obvious lists. But no matter how easy every now and then I see a website that extremely violates one of these or perhaps even more. Dooming it to the very end of SERPs. So for the record for everyone out there here they are:

1. Do NOT include your URL in your website’s title.
I know it may seem cool to let everyone know which website they are on but I think we all know where they have to look in order to know where they are. And to be honest if they can’t figure it out heck just leave them lost in the vast world of the Internet. Seriously though this will bring your SERPs even lower since the url of your website will barely be found in your content. Links do not count.

2. Your title should be maximum 65 characters long.
Keep it short I don’t think you have that many related keywords on one page. And remember to cut out ordinary words that you can never even hope to rank for like “it”.

3. Do NOT repeat keywords in your description.
You may now think Google cares about your description but it does and repeated keywords will get you stupid penalties for no reason. And try to keep it at maximum 200 characters.

4. Again Do NOT repeat keywords in your keywords META tag.
This is just like asking for your website to disappear people.

5. Do NOT join those tacky link exchange sites.
Sure they promise you links, but those links are put on a page with NOTHING but links. So there is no use to you. Instead it’ll give you a temporary boost until Google figures it out and BAM! next thing you know your website is out of SERP‘s.

6. Keyword stuffing is just a stupid plan.
You may be curious to put nothing but your keywords on a page but if you do tell how it turns out in a year or two. I don’t think I need to warn any smart people out there.

7. Stay away from BLACK HAT TECHNIQUES.
We all have heard of the mind blowing techniques to get your site on top of the SERPs, but what they don’t tell you is how long you are going to keep that top spot. It gives a good effect for a short time and after that the website is BANNED from Google.

8. Navigation is also important for the Search Engines.
So keep them html or php or anything they can see also.  Configuring XML sitemap will help the bots for site navigation.

9. Beyond SEO
The last mistake is optimizing your website for every search engine out there except, oh, that’s right the user. After all your work getting visitors from SERPs and when they get there they immediately leave. Because you’ve forgotten that the whole point of SEO is the user.

It doesn’t matter what others think these are the things you need to take care of first. Keep these things in mind and THEN move on to advance techniques. Which I happen to plan on covering extensively in the future.

Directory SubmissionsYou may have heard that Google is not going to give any importance to directory submissions. This started a lot of discussions in SEO professionals and website owners that having links in directories does not count any worth. They thought that it will give a negative effect on their SEO results and rankings. In this article I will try to explain why Google removed the recommendation.

So lets begin with talking on some points where directories affect your ranking. Directories are allowing you to submit your site so the visitors can find a good resource to their requirement. The listing is having a link of your website and this is the reason that can affect your ranking. Directories helps in increasing the link counts and therefore increases the strength of your website, theoretically.

So Google has stopped giving any importance to the directory links then it will surely affect the website rankings. So what is the good reason behind removing this recommendation from webmasters guidelines? People thought that Google were to create their own directory which will not be based on DMOZ but this was just a  rumor. Getting back to the question, has Google stopped counting Directory Links? MATT CUTTS, Google spokesperson and the one whom I follow from couple of last years and the regular reader of his Blog, answered my question. Matt says that there is always a chance that Google may devaluate these links but the good reason behind that was they were observing that lots of beginners were submitting their website to n number of poor quality directories.

I think you are pretty safe right now but you should keep building links in different ways and make a good quality website. Google will devaluate these type of links which are from low quality directories so if you just submit the directories to quality directories to keep yourself safe in future.

Human Reviewers for Google RankingsAs we all know that there are billion of websites on the net today and lots of website owners don’t know how exactly does Google and other search engines work. This article will light up the role of human reviewers played in Google search results and how they can affect your website rankings.

Very less people know that Google use human reviewers, as like DMOZ. A lot of people think that most of the work is done by computer algorithm but humans are playing pretty important role. Google has assigned thousands of people who randomly check the search results on every day basis. If any of the site that appears in the top 10 results and if it is looking like a spam then the reviewers report that sites to Google and they are finally removed from search results.

This one more good reason for not using spam tactics and Black Hat SEO for getting on top position. You should know thing well, that human reviewers or your competitors can report the sites that use spam tactics to Google. This will end up with getting your site removed from Google and all the work and efforts will be incomplete. Using spam tactics and Black Hat SEO can help you to reach at the top in search engines but the problem with this is you cant stay there for a long time if you are found.

Some of the tactics that you should look to avoid are:

Keyword cramming -  adding the keyword into the page but in unbalanced way. In comparison with the rest of the content.

Hidden text – this involves adding text to your site that is in the same color as the background so that the search engines can see it but your users can’t.

Link Farms – these are systems where lots of websites join and all link to each other for generating links.

Doorway pages – these are pages that show one thing to the search engines but redirect the user to another page with different content.

There are a lot of other tactics that you should avoid and the above are just some examples. If you get something and it looks pretty simple and easy then you should think over it carefully before implementing. If you are banned, then you will need to start again with everything.

There is only one way to get on the top in search results is to follow ethical SEO techniques. For this, you need to work on unique and relevant content and a good number of quality backlinks for website.

I would like to mention one more thing is that the human reviewers are having other important roles as well. It include looking at the search results and also the quality of sites. As per reviewers recommendations Google adapt the computer algorithm. This clearly means that what you need to get the top of the results will keep on changing on regular basis and you will need to be aware of changes happening around.

Keep on working with ethical SEO techniques, as it will give you a chance to stick on the top in search results, once you reach there. It’s because the human reviewers will likely see your site and if they find it useful and relevant to the search results, they will recommend your site to Google. Just Make sure you stay on top of Google’s recommendations and ensure your site conforms to ethical practices and you should obtain those elusive top 10 rankings.
