There are two different techniques to improve the visibility of website on the major search engines. The first one is organic ranking and the second one is by paid ranking. There are a lot of people who ask how much does it cost to get done with good placement, then again the question you must be asking yourself is, would you like to waste lots of money, time or both the things? If you can differentiate between placement and earning your placement ‘organically” or naturally, you will be well-matched in being able to come on correct decision. This will help you in achieving a high rank in search engines.

Organic SeoWhat is Organic Ranking?

Organic ranking is a mixture of your website’s meta tags, content and quality linking. As the search engine has examined these things, in combination with each other along with lots of other factors, they will place your website online at no cost. They will pickup a number of keywords they think your site is most relevant for.

The drawbacks of organic ranking are that it can be problematic in trying to get top ranking, if you don’t know what you are doing. If your website is not optimized perfectly and in proper way, then it is possible that you may lose out on search engine ranking.

Even though if you have optimized your website properly, top organic positions magnetize fifty percent than the paid positions.

Paid RankingWhat is Paid Ranking?

Paid ranking, well known as PPC or “Pay-Per-Click” paid placement, depends on the budgets wherein the highest bid set per click for a given keyword, gain higher ranking in the Sponsored Results. This means that you pay the amounts of the bid that you have given, every time someone clicks on your website’s link from the search engine. Viewers or users can attain top search engine ranking the immediately, opposed to waiting for a long time to rank well in the regular search engine results.

When you are using the PPC, search engines does not think about the content whether it is well written or how relevant it is, just for a simple reason that you are paying for your website to be listed in their sponsored results.

Obviously it is a disadvantage of paid ranking that you have to pay for your search engine ranking, but the plus point is that you have a proper control over which terms your website will be listed under.

Organic vs Paid Ranking Organic Ranking vs Paid RankingWhich is Better?

One is not better than the other. Paid ranking is the quickest and most successful way to get immediate attention and placement on search engines, but organic placement will bring you more visitors. Organic results are more popular, used more often and are much more cost effective. However, it takes longer to gain the trust and respect of search engines. So depending on what kind of business and goals you have in mind, you must think wisely about which option is best suits you. This way, you will get the best search engine ranking possible.

Few Important Things That You Must Do When Rankings DroppedEveryone who depends on search engines for traffic – which is all of us – is a common confusion. It is our fear for our rankings. It is simply logical that this is so common. After all, these rankings are often our business. At least up to now as the supply of these perspectives, we so desperately need.

It is safe to say that every one of us have woken up to see our rankings drop from page 1 to a status that can not be compared to be built-in the resettlement program of centralized witnesses. We can not be found. And that’s bad news.

This is what we should do when this happens. It’s possible that you may not be able to resolve the problem quickly, but you’ll at least be in a much recovered position to address and deal with him.

1. Do Not Panic.
This is very important to keep in mind. Take it seriously, but do not lose it. There are lots of reasons why the classification could slide down. He arrived in one of the well-known Google algorithm shake-up. It may be a momentary move that will restore your rank in a short time. The key here is to keep away from the urge to do something that will only harm your site in the long term ranking and your business itself.

Loads of people skip work and make changes to their site. They struggle to bring it into line with what they think search engines want now. This can essentially harm their position in search engines for the reason that they modify the structure and layout of their pages. It confuses the robots of search engines and creates an impression of confusion, a lack of unity within the site. It’s bad for ratings. So keep in mind – do not panic. The temporary drop in May. If it is not, a bulldozer and impulsive Rebuilding employment is not the solution.

2. Think Back: What have you changed recently?
At times your ranking dropped because of somewhat you have done. Such as, I had rankings drop because I screw up the code I made a few redirects in my. Htaccess. Did you add new pages recently? Make sure the links in them and they are done in approved manner. If you enter the destination URL that you’re wrong power of search engines a group of 404 error pages. They are not like that.

There are lots of things that might cause the ratings to slide. Keep in mind that you should look at the changes you’ve made as a 2 weeks ago, just to be sure. Robots of search engines vary in how they come to your site, so in May they be reacting to a change that is old news for you, but new to them.

3. Keep Going
It is tempting to turn to the mysterious side of SEO, Turn into a Black Hat when you notice your rankings drop. Specially when you see something of the site, or a not a outrank yours. We’ve all been there.

But you know what is the exact option, although it’s hard to resist doing a slight camouflage. What you should do is to keep on building a solid site: add relevant, targeted content, work on the structure of your site so that all content can be found and indexed by search engines, from Working on the links to your site. A little boring? Yes, at times. But it is the most brilliant choice, mainly for those of us looking for to be in business for the long-standing.

Remember these 3 steps for the next time if you see the rankings go down. It’s okay to be frustrated. It’s okay to be confused. It is even good to be a bit angry. Let it out, constructive, and after that get back to work. This is the surest technique.

SEO Tips for GoogleGetting a high ranking on Google is a big success. There are a lot of factors that go into pulling a high page rank. I have composed a small list of things that should not be ignored when optimizing your site. Let’s begin from the top:

META Tags- Sorry to say but Google doesn’t read META tags. That includes the KEYWORD tag. Some search engines, however, still use them.

URL- Having a keyword or words in URL will help you to some extent. Having a key word in your URL is not by any means a assurance, but it never hurts.

TITLE Tag- This is an most important step, make use of this tag wisely. Place your top keywords here. Keep in mind, your page is indexed starting from the top of the page. Make this one count.

Site Content- The first section of your site is a important part of your optimization. This will also be used as your site’s description. Be cautious not to exceed on the keywords. Make sure your content makes logic. Your keywords should make up a total of 6% to 8% of your page content. A standard of three hundred words is a excellent rule of thumb.

Header Tags- Header tag < H1 > must be considered important. Make headers uniform on your site. I like using them on the top of my page just before the first paragraph.

ALT Tags- These tags are great for adding up keywords to images, so take benefit of them. I also use mouse over text with linked text.

Links- Any links you have on your site should cover key terms in them. Never use “Click Here” or other unrelated words when creating links.

Bonus tip: When exchanging text links, make use of key phrases as the actual links. This will positively help you out.

Links exchange- This will help to increase your overall ranking. It’s actually better to be linked from another site (one way) than reciprocal (both sites linking to each other). Being linked one way is a huge bonus. Though, the following should be kept in mind.

A: The site you are linking to needs to be related to your site.
B: Google’s page rank of the site should be higher than yours; the higher the better.
C: Stay away from linking to sites that have too many links. A site that has forty or more links will only hurt you.

Bonus Tip: See where you rank on Google by using this free tool. http://www.googlerankings.com/ultimate_seo_tool.php

This Google ranking tool will give you an idea about what keywords you are found on. Use this to help change the keywords you want to be found under. Be sure to check your ranking before you start any optimization. Then do it again 3, 4 weeks after you have completed your adjustments. See if your ranking has gone up.

Search EnginesThe important truth is to get noticed by search engines rather than competitors. However, not everyone knows what they need to be better at. There are certain things you need to impliment when it comes down to search engine optimization. Its not important to be the best on the internet, you need to be the best than the people you are competing on your keywords. Utilize the following terms to be number one in the search engine results.

Pick the Right Url

The first step in getting high search engine rankings begins even before you build your website. You need to pick a site name that has something to do with the products or services you will be offering. For example, if you are selling dog collars, you may not want your website named Cats_R_Us.com. You should think about the keywords you will want to target, and try to incorporate them into your site name.

Name Your Pages Correctly

When you are building your website, you should include the best page names possible. Don’t use page titles like “home page”, and “about us”. You should include your keywords in your page titles. For example instead of “Home Page” you could say “Contact Dubai Home”, or you could use “About Contact Dubai “. Try to use your keywords as much as you can when naming your web pages.

Optimize Your Meta Tags

Meta tags are an important part of getting your site ranked high in the search engines. Meta keywords and meta phrases are some of the first things that search engine spiders see when crawling your website. These should be optimized to include the keywords or phrases you think best describe your website page. Each page will have its own metas and they should be optimized for what is on that page. Make sure you keep these up to date as you make changes to pages and discontinue products or services.

Optimize Your On Page Text

If you are writing the text on your page, you should include your keywords as a natural part of the page. Do not stuff the page with keywords, but make sure they are included. On average, a good number is to include your keywords 4% of the time. This means that a 500 word page would have your keywords listed 20 times. This should be done naturally, as a part of the headers and the text. The keys should be used in a grammatically correct way and never use improper spelling.

Age of Site

While you can’t make your site older than it really is, this is something to consider. Do not change your website every few months. Some people do this. They get fed up with a site because it isn’t working and they start something new. The problem is that search engines do look at your websites age as a factor for ranking it. This doesn’t mean that a new site cannot get high ranks. It just means that in the same way you get higher ranks after months of building links, age will also raise your search engine rankings.

These are just a few of the ways you can build you site to get higher search engine rankings. There are dozens more ways today. The key is to create a user friendly site that convinces visitors to stay and buy while they are there. After all, it does no good to bring in 20,000 visitors if you can only close two sales.

seo or ppc 150x150 SEO or PPC, Which One Should You Use?

Many people think that PPC marketing is a waste of money while others view’s SEO as unworthy. In reality, the two marketing strategies form a perfect combination.

Pay-Per-Click – PPC

PPC marketing is a “love it” or “hate platform”. For the “love it” crowd, PPC marketing is a way to get instant exposure and feedback on site designs. In a matter of minutes, you can start receiving traffic and adjusting your site to convert the traffic at the best rate possible. for more details visit to overall marketing strategy, both platforms will deliver the goods.

For those in the “hate it” crowd, bids are to high and one never knows how may of the clicks are fake and worthless. When starting out, the PPC campaign is critical for getting immediate traffic and tweaking the site to maximize conversions.

Search Engine Optimization – SEO

As with PPC, SEO marketing has its proponents and detractors. Those who love it look at the free traffic and glorious profitability of a site that converts the traffic at a decent rate. Detractors view SEO as an unnecessary waste of time since it can take a year or more to get high rankings, particularly on Google. Detractors also argue that high listings are subject to changes in the search engine ranking process, which means you can lose your rankings.

So, who is right? In truth, both sides make accurate arguments. PPC is expensive and click fraud is a monstrous problem. SEO produces free traffic, but it takes along time to get to the top and rankings are subject to the whims of search engine ranking changes. The truth, of course, is both marketing platforms should be used whenever possible.

Internet Marketing Strategy

Every site is unique and special, but mostly combine PPC and SEO marketing as part of an overall internet marketing strategy for better outputs. When starting out, the PPC campaign is critical for getting immediate traffic and tweaking the site to maximize conversions. At the same time, a SEO campaign should be undertaken. Detractors also argue that high listings are subject to changes in the search engine ranking process, which means you can lose your rankings. As the site rises in search results, the PPC campaign should be fazed out for the relevant high listings. SEO is important because it covers most of the key areas that marketers need to address while selling and advertising online – it generates awareness, it leads to acquisition of customers and conversion of visitors to customers, and optimizes the marketing efforts to target buyers.

I deal with many questions from curious website owners everyday. One question I have a new answer for is, “Should I use META tags on my site when do search engine optimization?” Old Answer: It couldn’t hurt, but don’t worry about them, the search engines ignore them for the most part. New answer? Read on…

Should I really use a META tag? Really?

The new answer is yes, you should use META tags on your site. The keyword META tag is still not used by search engines but when submitting to directories, a valuable use of time by the way, the META keywords are used in many cases to automatically fill in the keywords for your site in that directory.

Even more amazingly, the META description tag has soared in importance. How so you ask? Google has started showing the META description in its search results when certain criteria are met.

The criteria being used appears to be very simple, unlike many of the other things Google does. When the keyword or search terms appear in the META description, the META description is used instead of the snippet of text containing the keyword on your page.

For example, if you do a search in Google for ‘Big Oak SEO’ you will see our site in the first listing and the description used is our META description tag. All three words being searched for are also in our META description.

If you do a search for ‘big oak client’ you will see the first listing is pulling a snippet of text from the page itself. Since ‘client’ is not in our META description, it uses a snippet of text from the page where all three words can be found.

Where should you use a META description tag?

Every website should use a META description tag on the home page at the very least. This way you can say exactly what you want and not worry the snippet of text being used is not best choice for your message. What this really means is Google is giving us some measure of control.

And now that we have this knowledge and control, how best to use it? This allows us to take off our search engine optimizer hats and don our search engine marketer hats. Think of what you can say in the brief sentence that will entice a user to click your link rather than the one above or below. You can put your phone number in the META description for starters or how about being really creative and offer a discount or advertise a sale. Tell them your unique selling proposition. It should be a one sentence phrase already in your head. The only caveat to remember is that your META description will only show if the search term is in the META description. While this can be tricky, it can be done with some forethought. You can do this for all of your targeted pages and have dozens of marketing messages.

Use the META description wisely: target your market and entice your customers. Do not abuse this control and put outlandish, untrue or slanderous statements as I am sure Google will be watching; and if this technique is abused the META description may have seen it last search result this time.

Unluckily, lots of Search Engine Optimization companies don’t know what this involves. You may see a combined package, the dreaded “Submit Your Site to 1000’s of Search Engines” scam, or even link popularity development in the form of submitting to link farms. Throughout the basic premise of each of these ideas is true, the process of executing them is extremely important

Most important is, your web site needs human attention. A real person should completely analyze your site before starting any work. Get them on the phone and ask them questions. There should be a clean and clear process that the Search Engine Optimization company uses and tailors to each client. The SEO company should also have a clear idea of what is the specified structure for your web site.

The first important step in any work that is done should be “keyword research”. Like any kind of advertising, you need to know where your target market goes and how they find businesses like yours. The keywords chosen should apply to the theme of the web site. High rankings for these keywords should also be obtainable given your budget. If you are a computer repair shop with one or two locations in a city and can not service computers outside your area, then targeting a term such as “computer repair” is overkill. The cost for obtaining high rankings for a term such as that will be far greater than what you will make from the exposure, as much of your web site traffic will not be targeted enough.

Once keywords have been chosen for the web site, the content should be updated to reflect them. This may include subtle changes to the meta tags, page titles and text headings; or it could involve adding additional sections to the site, rewriting content and reorganizing the web site’s structure. It all depends on the specific requirements of the site and market.

Once the on-page content optimization is complete, link popularity development needs to be done. A link development campaign should be done to acquire quality incoming links to the web site. This phase of search engine optimization should take place as soon as possible and can be continued as needed. Reciprocal linking is fine as long as some caution is used. There are many sketchy services out there that use huge networks of gambling and pharmacy sites with no unique content. Always make sure that each incoming link can be interpreted by the search engines as a ‘vote’ by that site for yours. It is worthless and possibly dangerous if the site links out to link farms and Free-For-All sites (FFA’s). Writing articles with a link to your web site, getting people to post on forums and message boards, and advertising or getting links to drive targeted traffic to your site are great methods to use in improving your link popularity.

For the most part, you get what you pay for with Search Engine Optimization. A quick fix will rarely works, and if it seems too good to be true it probably is. Talk to the search engine optimization company about your concerns and make sure they understand your goals. Read their site and make sure they seem legitimate. Ask for results they’ve obtained for previous clients. Methods that not effective and have a chance to get a site banned include hiding text or links, participating in link farms, keyword stuffing, repeat search engine submissions, and copying web sites to multiple domains.

Proper SEO does not involve tricks. Web sites that have well written and well focused content, have been advertised in one way or another (including link popularity development), and overall are a good informational resource will get traffic from the search engines. Search engines are constantly updating ways to weed out the spamming and illegal SEO methods, so think long term with any search engine optimization campaign.

Anyone who has done research on SEO or Internet Marketing knows that the easiest and best way to increase your search engine ranking is to build up your inbound links. And intelligent business owners know that directory submissions are one of the best ways to get inbound links. Inbound links are valuable because search engines essentially consider each link a ‘vote’ for your site. The more votes you have, the higher your search engine ranking will be. Search engines also place a premium on one-way links. That’s not to say that reciprocal links are worthless, but they are much less valuable than one-way links, and directories are a great way to get one-way links.

If you are thinking whether it’s more beneficial to submit your site to general directories or to niche directories. The answer is that both are beneficial. General directories work to your advantage because they tend to be older and more well-established than niche directories, and search engines give more weight to links from older, more reputable sites. Niche directories are also great because they drive targeted traffic to your site even more than do general directories. So submit to both because both will pay off for you in the end.

As if you are wondering, how to select the directories to which you can add your URL,
ask for the following questions:

A). What is the PR of the directory? The higher the directory’s PageRank, the more value it is given by the search engines. General directories that have been around for awhile will usually have a higher PageRank than niche directories, but don’t let that stop you from using niche directories since they drive targeted traffic to your site. If you’re considering using paid directories, don’t pay for a listing in a directory with a PageRank less than 5.

B). What kinds of backlinks are in the directory? Are the backlinks located within the directory from real sites or are they for sites from which the directory has purchased ads?

C). How old is the directory? As mentioned earlier, search engines give greater weight to links from websites that are considered authoritative within the online community. Even if you’re going to submit yours site to some niche directories, be sure to also submit your site to directories that have been around awhile.

D). What’s the quality of the other submissions? If the other sites listed in the directory look like spam, or if they look like they are miscategorized, avoid the directory altogether. It probably doesn’t have a high-quality directory manager and it probably isn’t very selective about listings. As a result, it probably doesn’t have a great reputation in the online community. Don’t associate with it.

E). How much does it cost? Is the PageRank high enough for your investment? Does the quality match the price?

F). Is the company that runs the site reputable? Find out the name of the company that runs the site using whois.com. Research the company as much as possible. If it has dozens of cookie-cutter directories, stay away from it. It’s probably more interested in making money than in providing a high-quality service.

If you’re still not sure how to go about choosing a directory in which to list your website, consider consulting an SEO expert or an internet marketing professional. He or she will be able to tell you which directories are reputable and which directories are best avoided, as well as which niche directories are worth your investment. He or she may even submit your site on your behalf!

Do your own research, pick some best sites, and enjoy the benefits of using directory submissions to start with your internet marketing strategy. You’ll see increased traffic to your site and increased search engine ranking, both of which are ways to a successful business.
